Sleep as much as possible
A sensor spends most of its time in deep sleep. Every wake-up has a cost: it must be justified by a useful reading.
Send less, send better
Grouping several readings into one transmission sharply reduces radio consumption. The back-end must then accept batched, time-stamped data.
Measure actual consumption
Datasheets are not enough. We measure the prototype’s consumption in real conditions of use, then adjust. The data collected then feeds data & sensor analytics. See also: prototyping with an ESP32.
